Penny - May 2021 - Dog of the Month

Congratulations to Penny, our May Dog of the Month!

Penny’s parents adopted her through the Rez Dog Rescue program when they were living in Colorado. They rescued her pregnant mom near New Mexico and she and her six siblings were born in Aspen! They brought her home at 8 weeks. It's a great month for Penny to be Dog of the Month, since May is her adoption month! She's been with her parents for six years this month!

According to a DNA test, Penny is mostly Australian Cattle Dog with some Beagle and Brittany Spaniel. She has a big personality. She is very smart, curious, and loves to learn and explore. She's also a bit of a rascal and is good at outsmarting her parents to get what she wants from them. One parent commented: “For example, a few years ago, she was upset that I was sitting in her favorite chair. She started playing tug with the drapes and wasn't listening when I asked her to stop. So I stood up to go over to Penny and the minute I left the chair Penny ran and jumped in it. That's our Penny!”

Penny also has a goofy sense of humor and loves to make people laugh! “…And she has a lot of energy, so we really appreciate you all at No Bonz for helping us tire her out!.”

Penny is a tremendous joy to us and we’re grateful to have her in the pack!!

Olive - April 2021 - Dog of the Month

Congratulations to Olive, our April 2021 Dog of the Month!!

Olive was adopted from the Oregon Humane society by way of Georgia through the Second Chance Program in May of 2019. She was an 8 week old ball of fur with needle sharp teeth. Described as a lab mix, her mom had to find out what the mix was. As it turns out, Olive is zero lab! Instead, she is actually Staffordshire Terrier/Boston Terrier/Miniature Schnauzer/Longhaired Dachshund. Interesting mix for certain! But, what a pretty cool mix!

Olive LOVES squirrels, and thinks she can learn to climb trees, she can get one. She loves to chew on sticks - sometimes more like logs or entire branches if she can get them. Sleeping is another of her favorite past times. With her very short coat and bald underbelly, she gets chilly. Since she refuses to wear a sweater or coat, she likes to wrap herself in blankets or get AS CLOSE to the fake fireplace as possible. Olive started going to No Bonz as soon as she was old enough. She loves her people there, and also her dog buddies, especially Hermionie.

We are so fortunate and grateful to have Olive in our pack! We love her very much!

Odis - March 2021 - Dog of the Month

Congratulations to Odis, our March 2021 Dog of the Month!!

Here’s a special statement from Odis’ mom on how wonderful this sweet guys is: “ We got Odis 3 years ago after my divorce. I like to think of him as my hero. My therapy dog of sorts. He made our house a home again and made our hearts smile. He’s ridiculously submissive and silly. He loves to lay on top of coffee tables and usually prefers to be half on, half off. He always has to have a toy in his mouth. At all times. His smile lights up any room. It truly is a golden grin. He loves ALL people, but could take or leave other dogs. We like to say he’s a dog person, not a people person;) His best friend in the entire world is my 10 year-old son Breckon. The two of them are inseparable and watching them together makes my world go wrong. As I always say, Dogs for President.”

We definitely agree on Odis having a Golden Smile and warming up the room with his sweet, silly, and lovey personality! Odis, we are so glad to having you in our pack!

Hana - February 2021 - Dog of the Month

Congratulations to Hana, our February 2021 Dog of the Month!!

Hana arrived to her family from California on February 1, 2016. She was just 8 weeks old and just had her first airplane ride with her new parents. She was very well behaved, which they hoped would be a lifelong trend. She has more than mostly lived up to that! :-D

Hana loves to go on long walks in the neighborhood to look for squirrels and new smells (her parents sometimes call her “Miss Nose It All” for her nasal skills), but especially likes her frequent trips to the coast. Running free on the beach is one of Hana’s highest priorities. Doggy Day Care is right up there as well. She has lots of energy to burn off and bolts out of bed when her parents remind her it is a “Puppy Day”. This gives their other Vizsla the day off, known as “Boys Day” so that he can look for squirrels without competition. Another favorite activity is camping, again for the new smells and sights that that brings.

Hana loves to snuggle up on the couch with her pet parents, especially in the mornings while the paper is read. In the evening, and being a Vizsla, her favorite place is in front of the fire, or any other warm spot she can find!

We are extremely fortunate to have Hana with us at No Bonz! Happy Hana Month!
