Dusty - October 2020 Dog of the Month

Congratulations, Dusty, our October 2020 Dog of the Month!

Dusty is very excited to be Dog of the Month! He is hoping it comes with treats :-D

Dusty is a rescue who was found abandoned in the Southern California desert by the very awesome folks at Lead and Love Dog Rescue in Central Oregon.

His parents thought he was a lab mix but they had him DNA tested and he’s over 8 kinds of dogs, but not a lab!  They think his DNA Husky is most dominant.

He loves hiking, and he’s a very good rock climber, too.  His other favorite thing is meal time.  He leaps in the air every time! He has a diverse palate and is a big fan of cucumber, red bell pepper, and orange segments, in addition to bacon :). If he thinks a treat is coming he’ll start doing all of his tricks in a row (laying down, shaking, rolling over).

He has a quirky sometimes serious personality and is very sweet, gentle, and very self-sufficient.  He likes to know where his humans are, but then he likes to be in his own spot.  He is the best! We love Dusty and are very excited to have him at daycare with us!!

Chester & Henry - September 2020 - Dogs of the Month

Congratulations to Chester & Henry, our September 2020 Dogs of the Month!

And how a word from their mom:

“Chester and Henry are so excited to be the September Dogs of the Month!

We adopted Chester when he was 4 months old and Henry joined the family 5 months later. Fun fact: the boys are actually littermates who were reunited after Henry was returned to the rescue.  They have gone to No Bonz since they were less than a year old and 13 years later, they are still inseparable best friends.

Chester is the social butterfly.  A goofy, happy, loveable ball of fluff who will always say hello.  Henry on the other hand is the anxious, shy, and bossy one who would prefer you keep your distance until you earn his love.  Once you do, he is so sweet.  Sure, they bark at absolutely everything, Henry likes to climb on the coffee table when we aren’t home (like we won’t notice), and Chester would trade us for a treat any day but to us, they are perfect and we can’t imagine our lives without them.

Even as old men, they are just still excited to go to No Bonz as they were when they were puppies.  Thank you for giving them a place to hang out with friends every week, we are grateful.

Oh, and Chester would like to know if this honor includes a Pupperoni?”

The answer is YES! We need to get some Pupperoni! :-D We love having these adorable two with us!

Rozzie - August 2020 - Dog of the Month

Congratulations to Rozzie, our August 2020 Dog of the Month!

Here’s a word from Rozzie!

Hi! My name is Rozzie, and I’m very excited to be Dog of the Month!

I’m pretty much excited about everything under the sun. (In fact, people always think I’m a puppy, even though I’m five years old.)

The day my family adopted me, they actually came to look at a different dog – can you believe it?? But they saw me, and we all knew right away that we belonged together.

So, you might say that my family was meant to adopt me, even though they didn’t mean to adopt me. (Exciting!)

I love to see my family happy, so I’m very generous with snuggles, smiles, kisses, and wags. Even when they hug me too much or give me icky baths, I’m very patient, because I know they love me.

And they’re good to me, too. We play plenty of fetch (omg fetch is awesome!) and take lots of walks (walks!) and sometimes go to play in the river (I love it). They give me a big carrot every night after dinner, which I crunch away at (seriously, they’re the best treat ever! You should try these things!)

I’ve been coming to No Bonz for a little over three years and I’m so excited (so excited!) every Tuesday and Thursday for my days here with my doggie and human friends.

Layla - July 2020 - Dog of the Month

Congratulations, to Layla Maxine, our July Dog of the Month!!

Laya’s owner answered an ad on Craigslist and brought home Layla when was 6-8 months old. She was pretty shy and was in need of a good flea bath, nail trim, and a vet visit. She was the prettiest girl (and her mom’s very first female dog)!  The vet estimated her age and they chose 11/11 as her birthday (make a wish!). Layla will be four this November. Her mom says she isn’t sure sure who saved who, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it was Layla that saved her mom :-D
