Odis - March 2021 - Dog of the Month

Congratulations to Odis, our March 2021 Dog of the Month!!

Here’s a special statement from Odis’ mom on how wonderful this sweet guys is: “ We got Odis 3 years ago after my divorce. I like to think of him as my hero. My therapy dog of sorts. He made our house a home again and made our hearts smile. He’s ridiculously submissive and silly. He loves to lay on top of coffee tables and usually prefers to be half on, half off. He always has to have a toy in his mouth. At all times. His smile lights up any room. It truly is a golden grin. He loves ALL people, but could take or leave other dogs. We like to say he’s a dog person, not a people person;) His best friend in the entire world is my 10 year-old son Breckon. The two of them are inseparable and watching them together makes my world go wrong. As I always say, Dogs for President.”

We definitely agree on Odis having a Golden Smile and warming up the room with his sweet, silly, and lovey personality! Odis, we are so glad to having you in our pack!

Hana - February 2021 - Dog of the Month

Congratulations to Hana, our February 2021 Dog of the Month!!

Hana arrived to her family from California on February 1, 2016. She was just 8 weeks old and just had her first airplane ride with her new parents. She was very well behaved, which they hoped would be a lifelong trend. She has more than mostly lived up to that! :-D

Hana loves to go on long walks in the neighborhood to look for squirrels and new smells (her parents sometimes call her “Miss Nose It All” for her nasal skills), but especially likes her frequent trips to the coast. Running free on the beach is one of Hana’s highest priorities. Doggy Day Care is right up there as well. She has lots of energy to burn off and bolts out of bed when her parents remind her it is a “Puppy Day”. This gives their other Vizsla the day off, known as “Boys Day” so that he can look for squirrels without competition. Another favorite activity is camping, again for the new smells and sights that that brings.

Hana loves to snuggle up on the couch with her pet parents, especially in the mornings while the paper is read. In the evening, and being a Vizsla, her favorite place is in front of the fire, or any other warm spot she can find!

We are extremely fortunate to have Hana with us at No Bonz! Happy Hana Month!

Robbie - January 2021 - Dog of the Month

Congratulations to Robbie, our January Dog of the Month!!

“Robbie Dog is a one-year-old Shepard Mix rescue dog from Houston,” his parents say. “We were lucky to get him through an awesome organization called Three Little Pitties. This group transports rescue dogs to the Pacific Northwest so that they won't end up in the high-kill shelters in the Houston area. We were told that Robbie would be 30-40 lbs, but at last count, he is more than 65 lbs!! Of course, we still love him to bits, even though he's waaaay bigger than we were planning on!”

“Robbie is very loving and eager to please (except for when he chases squirrels, then all bets are off!). He will play with any and all dogs. He's a little shy around new humans, but once he has a chance to sniff them and observe them for a few minutes, then he'll come over for pets.”

“Funny things about Robbie: He loves to chew up toilet paper rolls (he averages 3-4 destroyed rolls per week). / He isn't very food motivated, but he can chew up a colossal doggy bone in less than a day. / Even though we swore that we wouldn't let him sleep on our bed, he charmed us so much that he now sleeps right by our feet every night.”

We love having Robbie with us at No Bonz! Thanks for letting him join the pack!

Donna - December 2020- Dog of the Month

Congratulations to Donna, our 2020 Dog of the Month!!

Donna’s parents adopted her from Project Pooch in 2014. She was 1 year old at the time and was surrendered by her previous owner. Project Pooch does not always take owner surrenders but Donna's veterinarian at the time fell in love with her and recommended her for Project Pooch's program. Donna’s parents had an appointment to meet a different dog and the program staff decided to introduce them to Donna with the warning of "she might be scared of you at first, she is really afraid of men.” Donna came running into the room and jumped right into the lap of her now dad! Here parents say: “That sealed the deal - - Donna was ours forever!” Donna is an incredibly sweet dog who LOVES to be around other pups and snuggled up with humans. She plays really hard...and loud...but she is serious about her affection towards people. She is an amazing foster sister for One Tail at a Time PDX and met her best friend Freddie through the program. Her and Freddie see each other all the time - including on Wednesdays at No Bonz. “Her dream day would be one on the beach, chasing the ball with her buddies, followed by a bully stick and couch snuggles to round out the evening!,” says her mom. “To know Donna is to love Donna (unless you are a man with a beard who she does not know - than she will take a bit to warm up) and we cannot imagine our lives without her and her very aggressive kisses. Thank you No Bonz for taking such good care of our girl!”
