Rosie - May 2020 - Dog of the Month

Congratulations to Rosie, our May 2020 Dog of the Month!

After Rosie’s owner lost her other pitbull of 16 years, she was going into a state of depression. Her daughter noticed and went online looking for another dog to love on her mom. She got ahold of a veteran in Seattle and drove up there to get Rosie who was only two months old at the time. All the managers at Rosie’s mom’s job were in on this big surprise! Her daughter bought Rosie to her mother’s job the same day she picked her up, went to a vacant room with all the hotel managers, and they called her to this room as if there was a complaint. Rosie’s mom opened the door and there was Rosie on the floor! What a life-changing surprise! Since then, Rosie has become a local “mascot” of the Hilton Hotel, as she has grown up there.

Just like any other pup, Rosie has been a challenge but her mom fell in love with her instantly and she saved her as she was on a downward fall from losing her other dog after having her so long. Rosie’s playfulness keeps her mom active and moving everyday. She’s a very timid and shy little dog but she’s coming out of her shell. However, she will let her mom know if she doesn’t like someone! :-D

We are all so happy and thrilled to have Rosie with us at daycare! She’s sweet, adorable, and full of pitty love!

Javy - April 2020 - Dog of the Month

Congratulations to Javy, our April Dog of the Month!

Javy was adopted through the Oregon Humane society Second Chance program. He was flown in from Oklahoma. Very little was known about his background, but who wouldn’t  fall in love with that face?
He’s been with is owners since September 2018.
He’s named after a player from our favorite baseball team, Javy Baez of the Chicago Cubs.

He is definitely scared when meeting new people, but usually comes around at his own pace.
He loves other dogs and going to the Mt. Tabor dog park.
His favorite thing is to be with his humans hiking, playing, and most of all laying on top of his owners because he thinks he’s a lapdog.

One of his nicknames is Ferris Drooler and he has a unique way of getting off the couch :-)

We’re excited to have Javy with us at No Bonz!

Shasta - March 2020 - Dog of the Month

Congratulations to Shasta, our March 2020 Dog of the Month!

Shasta is a Siberian Husky/Greyhound and was born 11/19/08. She is a second chance dog from the Oregon Humane Society, and was adopted when she was 11 months and one week old. At first, she was a handful: would not tolerate being left alone, tried to escape, couldn't be kenneled, and was not house trained. Her parents took her to obedience school and worked diligently with her issues.

When she was a year old, she started at No Bonz. She loved it! She was always respectful of the other dogs and followed the commands at day care because of her high intelligence.

Her bed is right in front of the livingroom window, and the neighbors call her the "neighborhood watchdog." She loves long walks, snow, playing with her purple kong, and supper with special meat items. Her dislikes are upsets in the daily routine and riding in the car especially in an unfamiliar route.

“She is the Queen, and we are at her beck and call”, say her parents. “We are proud that she is the Dog of the Month. She is the leading candidate for Dog of the Year!” We don’t disagree here at No Bonz!

Charlie - February 2020 - Dog of the Month

Congratulations to Charlie, our February Dog of the Month!

Charlie entered this world with his 7 brothers and sisters on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2019. His mama was rescued from a hoarder situation in Washington and gave birth to her babies in the care of a foster family in Portland, who nurtured them until they were ready for adoption. Charlie (formerly known as “Dwight”) is a shepherd, lab and terrier mix. He met his adopted family at 6 weeks while romping around in the backyard with his litter. He stood out as a curious, gentle, and independent little guy and had the cutest eyes and markings around his face, not to mention a very sweet disposition! Ida, Wes, Zach and Robin (his owners) fell in love and by the end of the playdate were well on their way to welcoming him into their family. He still gets to play with three of his siblings who were adopted within the human circle of friends.

As the dogs at No Bonz can attest, Charlie brings his playful spirit to anyone he encounters. He is sweet and social, and respectful (mostly) of the wishes of others around personal space -- so long as you let him know with a snarl or an ‘uh-oh’ that he needs to chill. Mostly he loves to be with his humans snuggling on couches and beds, running Forest Park trails, or playing with his buddies at No Bonz.
